The sink and work surface are installed to provide a perfectly level seamless unit, making light work of wiping up crumbs and keeping the area hygienically clean. The worktops should be made from waterproof materials, such as corian or resin, and it is vital that the work surface is cut precisely to allow the rim of the sink to sit perfectly flush with the top of the surface.
