The Blanco Sona 5s is the perfect 1.0 compact bowl inset kitchen sink.  The sleek, simple classic lines makes this model a firm favourite in the Blanco kitchen sink range.  The sink is supplied as standard with a 3.5" basket strainer waste, overflow and fixing clips. This Blanco kitchen sink is also suitable for use with a waste disposal unit. We have a number of matching Blanco kitchen taps available including a one hole kitchen tap, also known as a monblock kitchen tap.

Blanco SONA 5 S Use and Care Instructions

  • What is the material SILGRANIT made of?
  • SILGRANIT consists of 80% natural granite. The granite is combined with an acrylic matrix, ceramic and colour pigments to give it its unbeatable characteristics.
  • Is the material heat resistant?
  • Yes, SILGRANIT is heat resistant to 280°C.
  • How sensitive is SILGRANIT to scratches and chipping?
  • SILGRANIT is as hard as stone, which makes it resistant to scratching and cutting. The normal impacts and blows such as those caused by pots and pans and falling objects, e.g. glasses, will not cause it to crack of chip. However, if a small item like a knife is thrown into the sink a greater point force is produced on a smaller area and damage may occur here.
  • Is the material safe for use with food?
  • Yes, SILGRANIT is perfectly safe for food use and completely hygienic.
  • How do I clean the surface?
  • SILGRANIT is very easy to clean. Stains and traces of use are easy to remove with a scouring sponge and a little water. For more stubborn stains we recommend the use of a standard cleaning product for example ‘Cif’.
  • Do sinks made of SILGRANIT discolour over time?
  • No. The material is cast in a single pouring, and so is coloured through completely. Normal household use does not cause any discernible changes in colour. The colour also remains true in direct sunlight.
  • What can cause the dark marks and lines in the sink?
  • Because the surface of SILGRANIT is very hard and extremely wear resistant, metal objects (pots, saucepans, baking trays etc) can leave marks where they rub against it. These marks show up dark on a light coloured sink.These marks are easy to remove using a scouring sponge and a little water. For more stubborn marks, we recommend the use of ‘Cif’.
  • Can discolouration and stains/marks occur on SILGRANIT?
  • No. Discolouration and marks/stains are the result of limescale deposits that, when dry, absorb liquids such as coffee, tea or red wine. This then creates the impression of discolouration of the sink surface. Limescale deposits are easy to clean using a proprietary limescale remover for example ‘Bar Keepers friend’. Once limescale has built up it can be difficult to remove, for this we recommend you fill the bowl with hot water and add a dishwasher tablet, or washing detergent and soak for at least 3-4 hours (ideally overnight), rinse the sink, then clean with a sponge and wipe dry. To prevent limescale building up, treat the sink once a week with warm vinegar, which makes the surface of the sink more water-repellent, thus inhibiting limescale deposition.

    We have developed a system in which you, the customer, have total control over when you receive delivery of your goods.

    Within the checkout process, you will be able to select a number of options for delivery.  This will include a next day service, (subject to the product being in physical stock within our warehouse), as well as being able to ‘click and collect’ from our York depot.

    We have detailed below the basic methods of delivery we provide:

    Kitchen and bathroom taps, accessories, stainless steel sinks, undermount stainless steel sinks and waste fittings .

    Generally, these items are despatched using a premium delivery service provided by DPD.  Once the goods have been opened, checked for quality and any missing parts, they are then boxed up ready for despatch.  Once booked with DPD, you will receive an email to confirm that the consignment is ready to go.  On the actual day of delivery, we will provide you with a 1 hour time frame in which you can expect receipt of your order, subject to service in your postcode area.  You will be provided with a link from which you can track the progress of the driver, literally down to the last 15 minutes!  We even tell you the driver’s name, so you know who to expect.

    Larger fragile items such as granite sinks, ceramic sinks, bathroom pottery products, glass products and appliances.

    After almost 15 years we have experimented with virtually every method of packing goods in order to best ensure we can get the product to the customer in one piece!  It has become abundantly clear that the only way to do this is to use a specialist pallet service, whereby the items are thoroughly quality checked, then carefully wrapped onto a pallet.  This method of transport means that no human handling of the product takes place between our depot and your front door - the potential for damage in transit is reduced by 99%!

    The day before delivery, you will receive an email confirming the actual delivery date, which may well be a specific day you have pre-selected.  On the actual day of delivery, the driver will be requested to call you approximately one hour before arrival.  If you require slightly more notice, we suggest you simply call our Customer Service team on the morning of the delivery.  They will then contact your local depot to acquire a 3 hour time window.  Upon delivery the driver will allow you 15 minutes to simply check the product for any signs of transit damage before signing to accept the goods.

    A mixture of small and larger items, including: kitchen taps, bathroom accessories, granite sinks, ceramic bathroom sinks, appliances and waste disposal units.

    Unless you have made any special requests, we will send your complete order out on a single pallet from our depot.
